Connaught Barracks

Introduction

Outline planning permission for the Connaught Barracks site was granted in September 2021 for the erection of up to 300 homes, together with provision for parking, internal roads, footways and cycleways, open space, landscaping and surface water drainage features.

Implementation of the proposals on the site has been divided into a number of phases, starting with Phase 0, the provision of a 50-space visitor car park and Fort Burgoyne arrival space. The visitor car park will be the subject of a Reserved Matters planning application. This is a more detailed application that follows an outline planning approval. In the case of this Reserved Matters application, it would provide details of the visitor car park, including landscaping, appearance, scale and layout.
